As we move ahead on with the creation of an ebook on reading in the digital world we need to start thinking about the impact this book is going to have. We need to start reaching out to those groups that can help us with publicity and to those groups that have a stake in Digiliteracy.
I have been thinking about our first few levels of influence. I figure there are a few groups we can begin to reach out to even though we are still early in the game
1. Our friends, family, roommates, etc. These are people that we interact with daily. It should be easy for us to begin to share with them about this project.
2. Our BYU network. This includes individuals in our classes, in our major (especially you English majors!) and our professors. These individuals automatically have a stake in our project as a part of BYU, but many of them will also personally be interested in our project.
3. Our digital network. This will include any friends we have on social media. There will be many of our acquaintances that will have an interest in our project. We need to begin reaching out to those in our social media networks for feedback and help with promotion. We need to continue to expand our networks on our social media, perhaps with an emphasis on Goodreads.
I think these groups are the perfect place to start. From here we can start to look to what formal groups and organizations we would also like to involve. Please share in the comments how you think we can best reach out to these groups!
